What is the Youth Declaration?

Can you believe that the leading cause of death for young people aged 10-24 is road trauma?

In 2007, the World Health Organisation (WHO) held a World Youth Assembly for Road Safety in Geneva, to draw attention to the issue of youth road trauma and generate ideas to address the problem.

As a result, a Youth Declaration for Road Safety was created and adopted.

What You Should Pledge

Of the 1.2 million people who lose their lives in road crashes each year, almost a third of them are under the age of 25. By pledging to always look out for your mates and do the right thing on the roads, you can help make a difference.

How You Can Pledge

Making a pledge is easy. It might be as simple as making a promise to your friends and loved ones to never use your phone while driving and always look after your mates. It might be to never drive after drinking�
